NOVA is pleased to announce Mr. Ed Tavera, PE has joined our Transportation Sector Geotechnical Division as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Technical Leader to serve our Clients throughout the Southeast.
Mr. Tavera has over 30 years of exclusive DOT-related geotechnical experience, including 18 combined years employment with LADOTD and SCDOT. Ed’s expert knowledge and experience in seismicity and earthquake engineering within coastal plain geologies, combined with his unique understanding of the specialized aspects and requirements of Departments of Transportation separates him from most traditional geotechnical engineers. His vast amount of structures and roadway experience, woven with his intricate knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design specifications and FHWA publications has qualified him to co-author the SCDOT and LADOTD Geotechnical Design Manuals. Ed also has significant experience regarding innovative delivery alternatives, including Design/Build and Public/Private Partnerships.
