As a leader providing geotechnical engineering services, NOVA is proud to announce that Jim Niehoff, PE, one of our esteemed senior geotechnical engineers, was a featured speaker at the Geotechnical and Materials Engineers Committee (GMEC) Annual Conference this month.
The GMEC Conference, sponsored by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) – Florida, is a premier event in the engineering industry, bringing together fellow geotechnical and materials testing colleagues, thought leaders, and innovators to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and best practices in engineering. The conference also provides a platform for continuing education and networking with firms that provide engineering laboratory services and practice geotechnical engineering.
Jim presented on the topic “The Use of a Strain-Based Method of Augercast Pile Design Testing” drawing from his vast experience and expertise in geotechnical engineering. For over four decades, he has worked as a geotechnical engineering consultant, contributing his expertise to projects spanning all 50 states of the U.S. as well as ten additional countries across South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. His vast experience encompasses evaluating large grading projects, constructing earth embankments and dams, designing foundations for heavy and high-rise structures, overseeing deep excavations, and conducting site-specific seismic evaluations. Jim’s presentation offered valuable insights and actionable strategies that benefited attendees in their respective engineering endeavors.
We are thrilled that Jim was chosen as a featured speaker at the ACEC Florida’s Annual Conference. This recognition is a testament to his dedication, knowledge, and contributions to the field of geotechnical engineering. NOVA extends its congratulations to Jim and the additional TeamNOVA members, consisting of Melissa Caruso and Miguel Truzman, PE, who participated in the conference. We also express our gratitude to ACEC Florida for providing this platform to showcase the expertise and innovations within the engineering community.
